Question by nina: Is Konnie Huq another self-serving celeb who used the Olympics for some fame exposure?
It seems strange to me that Ms Huq ran with the Olympic torch yet voiced her objection to being protected by the Chinese security. she also has said that she’s against China holding the Olympics due to their human rights issues. So why did she want to represent the Olympics in China by actively participating in the torch relay? Seems like she’s just another dim-witted celeb who needs her 15 min to shine for her own publicity. Look at Britain, with their own h/r issues in Iraq. So it’s not only china and not only tibet that is the victime of h/r abuse but also other ethnic indigenous miniorities in china and the chinese people of china. so it ms huq still admired for her actions mismatching her views?

The torchbearers were spefically chosen by the Beijing Olympic Committee themselves and therefore all torchbearers were appointed. Konnie Huq (although a celebrity) was chosen by Beijing.
